Situation

Adidas was launching a new soccer shoe (or football boot) in advance of the 2022 World Cup and needed a global partner to help bring their campaign to life. Rick and Morty was gearing up for a new season launch and wanted a global partner to help drive reach and awareness.

A one of a kind global partnership with Adidas X Speedportal and Rick and Morty.

Story

We created an intergalactic soccer adventure with Rick and Morty featuring the Adidas X Speedportal that included a custom animated film, along with in-store activations  around the world and a co-branded commercial in the World Cup. The key was that the creative story-telling was driven by Adult Swim and Rick and Morty writers which created a completely authentic experience for fans.

Results

For Rick and Morty, it delivered $40M in marketing value globally, and drove $10M incremental ad sales revenue for Adult Swim. For Adidas, it smashed their sales goal for the X Speedportal.
